A Reply to Love

from the foot of the cross

One of our novices, Sr. Solana, wrote a poem about remembering her death and what that "one day" will look like when she lives beyond this life.

One Day

Memento Mori.

Remember my death!

One day my grave will be like the ones in the Toronto cemetery,

Words illegible, falling over, cracked and chipped.

One day I will return to the dust that my mother was formed from.

One day I will draw my last breath and my heart will stop pumping.

O, but what glory may my soul see!

For one day, all graves will be opened!

One day all will rise with You!

One day I will see You face- to-face.

One day this valley of tears will ring with joy!

One day the Lion shall lie with the Lamb!

One day all will be made right, all will be made new.

Loving, merciful Savior, bring me swiftly to that day!
