In our latest video, Sr. Sarah Rose shares a little background on the Books of Chronicles (everyone's got that book in the Bible memorized, right?) so we can get some context for this Sunday's first reading. She also looks at the Gospel of John, Chapter 3 - a micro-bite of the Good News of God's intense love for us.
"For God so loved the world ..." Sr. Sarah Rose asks, Can you see yourself in light of this Scripture? Do you see yourself as intensely loved and pursued by Him?
She also shares a reflection on the "poisons" we might be experiencing, compared with the poisonous serpents that tormented the Israelites in the desert. She helps us reflect on our own poisonous thoughts and how we can often judge ourselves and others. Through the cleansing power of Jesus' blood and water from the cross, our thoughts can be replaced with His own thoughts about ourselves and others.
